The Vogt family was established in 1986. Jane & Mark, the husband and wife founders of Janemark Winery & Vineyard, developed a passion for wine in the early days of their marriage. Originally from Maryland, Jane and Mark moved to Napa, California a week after their wedding and later moved back to Maryland to be close to family members and to start their own family.

The Vineyards

Jane & Mark began planting vines at Foxes Den Vineyard in Spring 2013. The name, “Foxes Den,” was passed down many generations from Jane’s family who acquired the property in 1877, and is home to our Albariño, Vidal, and Chambourcin. In Spring 2014, Jane & Mark expanded and planted more vines at Four Degrees Vineyard, where JWV’s tasting barn is located. Four Degrees is home to our Barbera, Petit Manseng, Albariño, and more to come.

The Tasting Barn

The tasting barn at our Four Degrees Vineyard dates back to the 1930s and was originally built by the Amish from Southern Maryland.

It had weathered many seasons and needed some love. Roughly 90 years after its construction, the Amish returned and helped us to restore this beauty. Stay tuned on more updates to come on the progress of our beloved barn.
